Married.
PLATT—ROOME.—At the residence of the bride’s parents in Cresco, Iowa, on January 1, 1900, Mr. James L. Platt and Miss Margaret M. Roome. The beautiful service of the Episcopal church was used, Rev. A. V. Gorrell, officiating.
There were present Dr. and Mrs. Roome from Calmar and the members of the families in Cresco; a delightful home wedding. After the solemnization of the nuptial vows, a bountful{sic} repast was served, followed by an hours pleasant conversation.
The groom is the son of our highly respected townsman, Mr. Dan Platt, and is a young man of sterling qualities, standing high in the estimation of his fellow-citizens, and is worthy of the prize he has won. The bride is one of Cresco’s fairest daughters, the oldest child of Dr. C. D. Roome, possessing all those womanly graces and virtue which will qualify her to till the position of a wife as well as she did that of a maiden.
