Iowa Plain Dealer April 19, 1895, FP C7

Married.

GARRETT—COMBS.—At the residence of the bride’s parents in Cresco, April 17, 1895, by Rev. J. H. Boggess, Mr. Alex D. Garrett of Chester and Miss Maud L. Combs of Cresco. This was a quiet wedding party, there being none but the immediate friends of the family present. The wedding presents were valuable and good, among them being a deed from the parents of the bride to her of some valuable property at Chester.

Little need be said of the personal attributes of this young couple. Suffice it to say that the groom is one of Chester’s best young men, born and grown to manhood in this county, gentlemanly bearing have caused him to count his friends in legion. The bride is well known to most of our people, having for several years been a popular teacher in the county school and is the possessor of all the womanly instincts and attributes so essential to the establishing of a perfect home.

Their future home will be made in Chester where the groom holds an excellent position with the firm of Bratrud Bros.
