Our Special Correspondent’s Report of the Marshall-Marsh Nuptials

The pleasant and quiet wedding at Oak Lawn on the evening of Tuesday, April 16, will serve as an explanation to the article on the mysterious “wedding bells” mentioned in these column a few weeks since.

The groom is among the most worthy of Cresco’s young men, and the bride one of our most highly esteemed young ladies. She has grown up here from girlhood, attended the public school at this place, graduating with the class of ’91. For a time she was absent at school in Illinois, and since her return has resided with her parents at their home near town.

The wedding took place at Oak Lawn, as their residence is known, at seven o’clock in the evening of a beautiful day and one well to be remembered by all present. Many useful and valuable presents were given. Refreshments were served shortly after the ceremony was pronounced, and all were highly pleased with the entire occasion.

Among those present of the relatives were Chas. Marshall, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Marshall, parents of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Marshall, Jr., Howard Marshall, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Marsh, parents of the bride, her brothers Eugene and Martin, Grandpa Marsh and Mrs. A. M. Van Leuven. Those from away were the Misses Hattie and Lena Tromm, of St. Paul, and Mrs. Henry Fey, of Northfield. The guests from town included Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Farrington and daughter, the Misses Rose and Kittie Stevens, Jennie and Delia Ruesink, Minnie Miller Edna Farrar, Jessie Anderson, Bertha Bullis, Jennie Smith, Lillie Duerdin, Perle Johnson, Grace Williams, Eva Ober, Nellie Genshow, Mamie and Letitia Clark; and the Messrs. Emerson Farrington, C. N. Flagler, Theodore Taraldson, W. N. Searles, Wilbur Prann and Frank Owen.

The ceremony was performed by the groom’s father, Rev. Marshall, while Chas. Marshall acted in the capacity of groomsman and Miss Hattie Tromm was bridesmaid.

The bridal pair took the evening train for Cresco where they will reside in the future. Your correspondent joins with their host of friends in wishing them much joy in their wedded life.
