Tin Wedding Party.

The Tin Wedding party given to Geo. M. Van Leuven Jr. and wife of Lime Springs on Tuesday evening the 22 inst, was largely attended by as social and jovial a party of friends as was ever our fortune to meet with. At 7:30 the guests began to assemble, continuing to arrive until about 9 o’clock, at which time the spacious parlors were so densely packed as to scarcely give standing room. The presents were numerous, rich, unique, comical, ludicrous, but all appropriate for the occasion. The supper was abundant and superb, and was served in elegant style. We are not furnished with a list of the presents, nor is it desirable to fill a newspaper with the hundreds of presents of which they were the recipients.

At about ten o’clock those present from Cresco were compelled to sever themselves from the pleasant and entertaining company to get the train, arriving at home about midnight. In looking over the hundreds of assembled guests on this festive occasion it occurred to us that the man was highly favored in this world who could gather about him as many as were present, all seemingly true and unselfish friends. We hope that all were such, for none are more deserving of true, tried and unselfish friends than Geo. M. Van Leauven{sp} Jr. and his estimable wife.
