Thanks for the query about my ancestors. George W. Trimble, his brother Archibald and sisters Elizabeth and Jennie arrived in DesMoines about 1856. The family lived in Fairfield Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Following the deaths of their parents, in the 1850’s, they west west. Only my ancestor, James, remained in Pennsylvania. According to some sources, John Trimble, their father came to the United States as a child from Ireland. He was born about 1794 and died in 1851. He first appears in Fairfield Twp. In 1840. Since there are several distinct Trimble’s in Westmoreland and adjoining Indiana County, PA, I have not been able to establish much beyond 1840. Since my ancestor, James (1st born son of John) was born in 1817 and his mother was born in nearby Armagh, Indiana Co., Pa, I know that this branch was here from 1817.
