Trying to find out some more info on my 2nd Great Grand Father. This is a story that I have found on him and I would like to find out more info about him being in the insane asylum at Mt. Pleasant Iowa. Thanks

Last Thursday morning James Arvin of Baker Twp. drove cattle to pasture & was Seen to return to barn. This was the last time he was seen alive. For some yrs. he had been insane. At one time he was an inmate of asylum at Mt. Pleasant. Friday family began searching for him. Continued Sat. & Sunday & after 12 o'clock Sunday Messer. Joshua Simmons & W. E. Herron discovered his body hanging from limb to tree about 3 quarters mile from his home. He prepared a rope from 7 strands of binding twine, climbed a small tree & adjusted a loop about neck & tied rope to limb about 8 feet from ground & swung off rope to lime about 8 feet from the ground dying of strangulation. His left hand caught in loop of neck & was hanging with knees nearly on ground. Resident of Guthrie Co. about 20 yrs. Left wife 7 several children. About 63. remains entered Sunday night after discover of body. Messenger sent to town & P. H. Lenon called the as coroner (Guthrian, Guthrie Center, Ia., May 31, 1894)
