My name is Hanna Howard and I work for the Iowa Legislature’s Legislative Services Agency in Des Moines. I’m doing a bit of biographical/historical research on past legislators this summer and I’m trying to find information about several legislators who served Henry County between the years 1838 and 1850. Their names, the Legislative or General Assemblies (LA or GA) in which they served, and the years they served are listed below:

L.B. Hughes; LA 1 and 2; 1838-1840
Hawkins, Joseph C; LA 2 and 3; 1839-1841
Thompson, William; LA 6; 1843-1845
Burroughs, Mark; GA 2; 1848-1850
Thompson, Hugh R; GA 2; 1848-1850
White, Francis; GA 5; 1854-1856

If anyone can provide any key information about these men (ie. birth and/or death dates, spouse(s)’ and children’s names, etc.), I would very much appreciate it if you could pass it on to me!
