ALRED, ALLRED, CUMMINS, ALLENDER

I am looking for the parents of James M. Alred/Allred born 1821-22 in North Carolina and who was living in Henry County IA from about 1840-1864. He married Mary Lucy Cummins born 1833 in Ohio. Who are the parents of Mary Lucy? James & Mary Lucy had 4 daughters: Louisa Jane Allred Haines Widows Salyards, Lydia Alice Allred Turner, Sarah Eizabeth Allred Dutweiller, and Mary Emma Allred. Mary Lucy Cummins Allred later married a Haight and they moved to Bethany Missouri. Was James killed in the Civil WAr? In addition I found an older James Allred b about 1780 also lived in Henry County with the Thomas Allender family. Thomas Allender's wife was Jane Marie Allred. Is Jane a sister of James Allred (b 1821-22)? How does Elizabeth Davis who married a James Allred fit into this family? Any clues provided will be appreciated. Thank you.
