William Bird and Margaretta Moyer

Seeking information from the death certificate of William Bird who died August 20-30, 1869 in Mount Pleasant Iowa and who is buried in Forrest Home Cemetery there.

Also seeking same for his wife, Margaretta Moyer Bird who died February 7-8, 1881 in Mount Pleasant Iowa and who is also buried in Forrest Home Cemetery.

They are my 3 great-grandparents.

I have applied to the state for a copy of these certificates, but have been refused because I am not considered "an immediate family member."

Since I live in PA, I'm unable to visit the state offices.

Does anyone have any suggestions about how I might find out if a death certificate exists and, if so, what is written on it?

Any information would be much appreciated. Thank you.
