Can somebody help us

Gordon Dale Christner was in the army, stationed in Germany, Fulda in the year 1980. He was born 13Th November 1962. He was my boyfriend, I was 16 years old and became pregnant. My son Peter was born 3.July 1981. In February 1981 he was ordered back to USA. I never heard about the father of my child an later I married a German man. But my son is now 26 year old and always was unhappy never to see his father and he was searching for him. There are not so many things that I remember, because I was also sad about his lefting. Now we found in google this site, that told us, that he already died in 1989. My son is so shocked, because he hoped so much to see his father one day. Can anybody tell us something about Gordon Dale Christner? Why did he die so early? Is there someone of his family, that we could contact. His parents knew about me, he called home sometimes, while he stayed in our house. We would be happy about any informations about Gordon.
