Mr. Henry Johnson, an aged colored man, died last night. He was an old soldier. No arrangements have yet been made for the funeral.

The funeral of Mr. Henry Johnson, the old colored soldier, was quite largely attended. The services were conducted from the African Methodist church, Rev. Gordon officiating. The Grand Army Post took charge of the services at the grave. The regular ritual services for the burial of the dead soldier was carried out. A squad of cadets from the I.W.U. fired the customary three volleys and "taps" were sounded by the post bugler.

Mr. Johnson was one of the best [sic] many friends among the white people. The old soldiers did a very handsome thing in turning out to his funeral the way they did.
