Obituary

Glenna Ruth Colyn went home to be with her Lord and Savior at her home on Sunday, October 20, 2013. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Berean Assembly of God Church, 5299 E. University Ave. in Pleasant Hill, with burial to follow at Power Warren Cemetery, Runnells, Iowa. Family will greet visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the church.

Glenna was born on March 7, 1934, in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa to Lloyd and Clara Widmer. She married Hubert Colyn on February 10, 1957. They spent 56 happy years together enjoying work on the farm and their family and friends. Glenna was well known as an Avon and Tupperware Dealer in Polk County.

Glenna had a tremendous loving concern for all people, enjoyed her church and had a true heart in leading people to the Lord.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Hubert; her children, GayLea (Marv) Wilson, Joy (Doug) Sassman, Steven Colyn, and Lori (Calvin) Vande Krol; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister, Marilyn (Jerry) Goodwin; brother, Chris (Diana) Widmer and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Maynard and Wade Widmer.
