Mason B. Miller 1842 - 1922

Mason B. Miller, son of Richard Isaac Miller and Ann Miller, was born December 7, 1842 at Sarahville, Ohio. He was married to Sarah A. Miller at Spavia, Illinois May 26, 1867. She preceded him in death 19 years ago. To this union four children were born---Marion of Salem, Iowa, Elmer of Vermont, Illinois, Lucy, living at home, and Kate Halphin of Kansas City, Missouri. Also six living grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Miller served in the Civil War, being a member of Co. B 122 Ohio Volunteers. He was wounded in the battle of Winchester.

His father carefully taught him from God’s Word and in early childhood he became a Christian. He was a member of the Friends Church.

For 26 years he has made his home in Salem. He has been a sufferer for four years and for many months has been confined to his bed. He passed quietly away Monday morning, February 6th. The funeral services were held in the Friends Church Tuesday afternoon conducted by the pastor. Interment in the East Cemetery.
