PASSED AWAY

At his home, near Salem, January 12, 1914, Isaac Cook, age 102 years, 2 months, and 21 days. He was the father of eight children, 32 grandchildren, 11 great-granchildren. He was born in Maryland October 22, 1811. He moved to Indiana with his parents when six years old. He came to Iowa in the early settling of the state and lived in Salem where he was engaged in the brick business for a number of years. He returned to Indiana where he remained several years, coming back to Salem in 1855 where he spent most of the time since with the exception of a few years spent at Osceola. His children were all present except two: those present being Frank and Miss Tillie, at home, Linn Cook and wife of Hillsboro, Mrs. Emma McVey of Centralia, Mo., John Cook and wife of Osceola, Orlando Cook and wife of Osceola. Those not present were W.P. Cook of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; C. G. Cook of Neodosha, Kansas.

Funeral services were held on Thursday in the Friends church conducted by Rev. Bessie Collins, a minister of the Friends church of which he was a member. He was laid to rest in the Friends cemetery, the pallbearers being Messrs. Theo Hampton, William Bond, Jerry Hoggatt, Alfred Addington, Frank Knight, Albert Lamm.
