New London, Ia.- May 6(Correspondence) - Michael C. Prier, whose death occured yesterday morning was born in Henry County, Indiana, April 26, 1828. He emigrated to Iowa in 1840, settling in this vicinity, where he has resided continuously except while serving his country in the civil war, being a member of the Twenty-fifith Iowa Cavalry. He was married to Mary Ann Elcock in 1852, and is survived by the widow and one daughter, Mrs. Thomas Hennessee. Mr. Prier was a stauch democrat, and on political and religious matters which were his favorite subjects, he had strong convictions and he was always ready to advocate his principles with earnestness. He was not connected with any religious denominations, but was an honest and upright citizen, and had a large circle of acquaintances.
