Prominent Danville Woman Dies at 39
DANVILLE – Mrs. Donna June Nelson, 39, prominent Danville Woman, died at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, in Henry County Memorial hospital at Mt. Pleasant.
She was the wife of Donald B. Nelson, Danville, Rt. 2, Iowa’s Outstanding Young Farmer of 1962 and present Des Moines County Farm Bureau president.
Death was attributed to a heart ailment.
A native of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Nelson was born July 10, 1931, the daughter of Paul and Dorothy Schneider Rikeard, now of La Verne, Calif.
She was married to Mr. Nelson at Danville on March 23, 1951.
Active in Community
Mrs. Nelson was member of First Baptist church and of OES Chapter 514. She had taken part in many community activities.
Surviving: the husband and parents; two sons and daughter; Steven B., USA, presently home on emergency furlough, and Stan C., and Sharon June Nelson, both at home, and one grandson.
Funeral: First Baptist church at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Glenn Emmert; Jaggar cemetery. The body is at the Elliot Chapel in New London.
