Lester Ross, 90, of Mt. Pleasant, died at 11:50 A.M., Saturday, June
7, 1997 at the Mapleleaf Healthcare Center, Mt. Pleasant.

He was born Sept. 17, 1906, in Jefferson County, the son of Wilbur
and Anna Egli Ross. On Oct. 23, 1933, he married Alice Anna Hulme at
Kahoka, Mo. She preceded him in death on Feb. 16, 1994.

He attended the Trenton Missionary Church, farmed in the Trenton
area, and was an avid outdoorsman.

Survivors include: One daughter, Mrs. Philip Albert (Anna) Mae Rich
of Mt. Pleasant; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one
brother, Orlendes (Pat) Ross of Mt. Pleasant; one sister, Ina Mathews of
Winfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one daughter; and
three brothers; Wayne, Emmett, and Ileth.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, June 10, at the
Trenton Missionary Church, with the Rev. Glen Richard officiating.
Burial will be in the Green Mound Cemetery.

Friends may call at their convenience Monday (today) June 9, at the
Beatty Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant, where the family will receive friends
from 7 P.M. to 8 P.M.

Memorials have been established to the Trenton Missionary Church
or to the Green Mound Cemetery.
