JOSEPH E. SCHADT
Joseph E. Schadt, 68, 906 Broadway, Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, April 25, 1984, at 3:40 A.M. at University Hospitals in Iowa City. He was born Dec. 30, 1915 west if Trenton, Iowa, the son of William and Mary Ridinger Schadt. He was married May 28, 1940, in Trenton, to Thelma Sammons.

Mr. Schadt was a member of the Mt. Pleasant V.F.W. and American Legion. He served in the Pacific in World War II and was a long time employee of the Iowa Southern Utilities and later worked at Heatilator.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Shirley Schadt, Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. James (Connie) Stonehouse, Chariton; one granddaughter; one grandson; two brothers, James, Mt. Pleasant and Walter, Orleans, Ind.; three sisters, Mrs. Earnest (Helen) Messer, Wayland; Mrs. Harold (Maxine) Farr and Mrs. Ralph (Darlene) Gholson, both of Mt. Pleasant. His parents, one brother, John, and one sister, Mrs. Kathryn White, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 28 at 10:30 A.M. at the Beatty Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant. Interment will be in the Forest Home Cemetery. The Rev. George White, pastor of the First United Methodist Church will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Visitation will begin after 1 P.M. Thursday. A memorial has been established.
