Adra Coghlan, 93, of Mt. Pleasant did Monday, January 30, 2012 in Mt. Pleasant.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 3 at the First United Methodist Church, 309 N. Main St., Mt. Pleasant. Visitation will be from 12 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 N. Main St., Mt. Pleasant, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m. Born June 4, 1918,

Mrs. Coghlan graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1935. She married Robert E. Coghlan on June 25, 1939.

She worked at Central Staes Insurance in Mt. Pleasant. From 1953 to 1970, she worked at Mt. Pleasant Bank and Trust.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and UMW. She held offices in several organizations including, Founders Chapter TTT, Chapter Original A PEO, James Harlan Chapter DAR, Bethlehem Chapter 38 Order of the Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and several other local organizations. She was the local president of the Iowa Genealogical Society, and traveled here and abroad to document family history.

Survivors include two sons - John (Marilyn) Coghlan of Lake Panorma, IA, and Patrick (Chris) Coghlan of Bella Vista, AK; 5 grandsons and eleven great-grandchildren.

Her parents, husband, two brothers-Ben and Eugene House and one sister - Alma Lauer, precede in death.

Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church.
