Mt. Pleasant--Winifred Clark Sharpe, 94, of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa died Saturday, November 27, 2004, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 2 at Forest Home Chapel. Dr. Edward Peterson officiated. Visitation was held at noon on Wednesday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with family present from 4-7 p.m. An Eastern Star service was held at 7 p.m.

Memorials in her name were to be designated to the Iowa Department for the Blind Library.

Winifred was born September 5, 1909 in Wayland, Iowa, the daughter of Harry H. and Della (Wery) Clark. She was a graduate of Wayland High School and Iowa Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She was a teacher at Lockridge High School for seven years and was the principal for four years.

She married Gerald L. Sharpe on December 8, 1935 in Rushville, Illinois

Survivors: Son Larry J. Sharpe & wife Carol, of Bettendorf, 2 grandchildren, Ann Sharpe of Texas and Kirk Sharpe & wife Lisa of Missouri, three great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents and husband, Gerald on September 27, 1986.
