Lewis Osmer Skipton, Longtime resident of Winfield, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 1961 at the
Henry County Memorial Hospital, Mt. Pleasant,
where he had been admitted Tuesday afternoon.

Lewis was the son of George E. and Dianthia Withington Skipton, born February 01, 1872 at
Marietta, Ohio.

He came to Iowa at the age of seventeen and lived
in the vicinity of Winfield until his death.

On march 15, 1896 he was married to Edith Electa
Eveland at Winfield.

She survives as do the following children; Ola E.
of Winfield, Mrs. Elton (Ollie T.) Hewitt of
Morning Sun, and Dr. George J. Skipton of St.
Joseph, MO., six grandchildren and seven great
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and two
sister. He was the last of the four children of
his parents.

Funeral services will be at 2 pm, Saturday,
May 6 at Barton - Mckasson Funeral Home with
Rev. David Barker of the Winfield Methodist
Church officiating.

Burial will be in Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery.
