Bertha Austad, 95, of the Maple Leaf Health Care Center, Mount Pleasant, died 5:45 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, 1987, at the care center.
She was born Oct. 18, 1891, in Galena, Ill. She married Joseph W. Austad in 1912 in Mount Pleasant. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of the St. Alphonsus Church, Mount Pleasant.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Olive (Carrol) Fay, Waterloo, and Mrs. Elizabeth (Ranson) Rideout, Santa Cruz, Calif.; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin noon Tuesday with a parish rosary at 4:30 p.m. at the Weir Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant.
A funeral Mass for Mrs. Austad will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Mount Pleasant, with Rev. Thomas Spiegel officiating.
