Dillavou Rites Set

LOCKRIDGE - Orne C. Dillavou, 79, Lockridge, died suddenly Wednesday about 4:30 p.m. of an apparent heart attack while working on a house in which he was planning to occupy in Lockridge.

He had sold the last 40 acres of his farm near Lockridge when he was stricken.

Clarence Mickey, Lockridge, was with Dillavou when he was stricken.

The body is at the Elliott Funeral Chapel in New London where Masonic Rites will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. this evening, Thursday. Friends may also call at the chapel this evening.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Elliott Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Burge Cemetery near New London.

Orne C. Dillavou was born Jan. 12, 1895, at Salem, the son of Luther and Hannah Jackson Dillavou. He was married to Vera McFarland Jan. 17, 1917, at Lowell. She survives.

Dillavou was a member of the Lockridge Baptist Church adn a 50-year member of the Crawfordsville Masonic Lodge, AF and AM.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by two sons, Dale, Marshalltown; and Wayne, Des Plaines, Ill.; one brother, Edman Dillavou, Fort Madison; one sister, Mrs. Stella Henessee, Lockridge; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
