Clifford McKinnon
Clifford W. McKinnon, 81, of West Burlington, died at 8:55 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born March 10, 1920, in New London, he was the son of Robert M. and Elizabeth Tague McKinnon. He married Ruth I. Lozier on June 6, 1964, in Pekin, Ill.
Mr. McKinnon was a graduate of New London High School. He farmed early in his life with his father and brother and later worked for J.I. Case Co. for 15 years.
He was a member of West Burlington United Methodist Church and Moose Lodge 579 of Burlington and a longtime member of Eagles Aerie No. 150, also of Burlington. He loved football, fishing, camping and hunting.
Survivors include his wife; one stepson, Jim Lozier of Tennessee, Ill.; four stepdaughters, Brenda Chandler of East Galesburg, Ill., Nora Crandall of Springfield, Ill., Wanda Johnson of Monmouth, Ill., and Donna Loper of Knoxville, Ill.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Frank McKinnon of Mesa, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one stepson, one step-grandson, two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Sunday at Hass Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Mr. McKinnon will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jack Wolgamuth officiating. Burial will be in Burge Cemetery, New London.
A memorial has been established for his church.
