DEATH TAKES MRS. COCHRAN IN DES MOINES

Mrs. Jessie Cochran, the widow of Rev. C.W. Cochran, passed away at the Iowa Methodist Hospital, Des Moines, Tuesday evening at 7:45, after several months of weakening illness. She was taken to the hospital a week ago Monday from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Rhea in Des Moines, where she had lived and been cared for since last fall.

She was born April 30, 1879, in Hillsboro, and on April 4, 1901, married Rev. Charles W. Cochran, a Methodist minister. They served together the following churches in Southeast Iowa: Salina, West Point, Sperry, Burlington Circuit, Attica, Eddyville, Bussey, Barnes City, Wayland, Packwood, Cantril, Drakesville, Muscatine North, Lacy, Cedar, Williamsburg, and Crawfordsville. In 1937, they retired and moved to a home on East Monro Street in Mt. Pleasant. Rev. Cochran passed away June 21, 1946.

Mrs. Cochran is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Rhea of Des Moines, and Louise of Long Beach, Calif. Other survivors are two granddaughters, a sister, Mrs. Margaret Morris of Ottumwa, and a brother, Ray White of Los Angeles, Calif. A daughter Mildred, died in 1921.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 at the Cookes Funeral Home. Dr. Walter M. Scheuremann, superintendent of the Burlington district of the Methodist church, and Dr. George G. Hunt, pastor of the First Methodist church, Mt. Pleasant, will be the officiating ministers. Burial will be in the Hillsboro cemetery.
