D. Pauline Shepp, 96, of Mt. Pleasant, died Mon., Jan. 28 at Park Place Elder Living in Mt. Pleasant.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 2 at the First United Methodist Church, 309 N Main St., Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Herb Shafer officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. on Friday at the church, where the family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church, Iowa Wesleyan College or Midwest Old Threshers Foundation. Online condolences may be sent to www.kimzeyfuneralhome.com

Dora Pauline Shepp was born September 20, 1916 in Keosauqua, IA, the daughter of Herbert and Bessie (Dundore) Caroll. She attended grade school in Pulaski and Bloomfield, IA. She attended Callahan Junior High in Des Moines while her father served as an Iowa State Senator. She graduated from Keosauqua High School in 1934 and from Iowa Wesleyan College in 1939 with a B.A. in English. On July 8, 1943 in Cedar Rapids, Pauline married Robert T. Shepp.

Mrs. Shepp taught high school in Sperry, IA, at Iowa Wesleyan College (where she was the Asst. Dean of Women) and at Humpty Dumpty Pre School in Mt. Pleasant. She was a stenographer for IAAP in Middle town.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Grace Circle, the Henry Co. Health Center Auxiliary, the PTA and the Fortnightly Club, where she was an officer. She volunteered at the health center's informtion desk. She was a former Sunday School Teacher and former Girl Scout Leader.

Survivors include a daughter, Melinda (Alan) Huisinga of Mt. Pleasant (formerly of Carlisle), a granddaughter, Kristin (Adam) Sieren of West Des Moines and a great grandson, Lincoln Lennon Sieren, who was just born January 27, 2013.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and a grandson, Chad Michael Huisinga. ~ The Des Moines (IA) Register, Fri 1 Feb 2013.
