Leo E. Morrow rites Tuesday

Leo E. Morrow, 72, Kirkland, Wash., former area resident, died Thursday at his home.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church, Swedesburg, with the Rev. Matthew Martens officiating. Burial will be in the Swedesburg Church Cemetery. Friends may call as they desire after 3 p.m. Monday at the McKasson-Honts Funeral Home in Winfield, where a memorial to the Swedesburg Church Cemetery Fund has been established.

Morrow was born Oct. 21, 1914 at Douds, the son of Emmett and Ellen Wolfe Morrow. He graduated from Parsons College in 1937. On June 4, 1938, he married Clarette Norman in Winfield. A retired school teacher, he taught in the Mount Union, Ottumwa, Cedar, and Cardinal districts. From 1951 to 1966 he lived in Fairfield, where he sold real estate and was in private business. he then moved to Riverside, Calif., where he taught for 14 years, retiring in 1980 to Kirkland, Wash. He was a former member of Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church and was active in Fairfield Lions while living in this community.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Larry, Bellevue, Wash.; Warren, Longmont, Colo.; a daughter, Marilyn Raymond, Kent, Wash.; seven grandchildren; his father, Keosauqua; a brother, Ralph, San Diego, Calif. His mother and an infant son preceded him in death.
