Rex Morris

MT. PLEASANT - Mr. Rex S. Morris, 73, retired farmer, died Sunday at 1:45 a.m. at Memorial Hospital.

He was a native of Lee county, born Jan. 16, 1891, the son of Alvin and Lenora Jordan Morris. On Jan. 20, 1915, he was married to Mary Thompson at Hillsboro, who survives.

In addition to his widow he is survived by two sons, Orville T. and Virgil, and a daughter, Mrs. Harold Rose and four grandchildren, all of Mt. Pleasant; two brothers, Everett Morris of Grand Island, Neb.; George Morris of Kahoka, Mo. Two brothers and a sister are dead.

He was a member of the Baptist church at Oakland Mills and a member of the Masonic lodge 8, AF & AM, whose members will hold Masonic services Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Weir-Cookes Funeral home.

Services will be Wednesday 1:30 p.m. at the Weir-Cookes Funeral home with Rev. Eugene Williams officiating. Burial will be in Hillsboro cemetery.

A memorial has been established at Weir-Cookes for Mr. Morris for the Oakland Mills church.
