OBITUARY.
Capt. O.R. Sensibaugh was born in Morgantown, Va., June 12th, 1832 and died in Mt. Pleasant, Ia., Apr. 30th 1903 aged 70 years. He enlisted in Co. K, 4th Iowa Cavalry in Nov. 1861 and was mustered out of service in 1866 as Captain of Company A 56th Regiment U.S.C.I. He moved from Ind. in 1854 and settled in Henry county, Ia. and in 1858 was married to Emily C. Smith, who with four children survive him; Clara S. Everts of Ridgeland, Miss.; Charles H. of Mt. Pleasant; Belle Myers of Trenton and Dr. W.C. Sensibaugh of Port Byron, Ill.; one child having died in infancy. He was converted in 1857 and joined the M.E. church and held the office of class leader and steward for a number of years and remained a faithful member until death. Although suffering intense pain to the last, his end was peaceful, his last words being "Jesus is with me.."
His funeral sermon was preached by his pastor Rev. I.B. Taylor of Mt. Pleasant west circuit. The services at the cemetery at Hickory Grove were in charge of the G.A.R.s a part of whom were his old comrades and after firing a salute he was left to await the Resurrection morn. He will be sadly missed by his friends and neighbors, but our loss is his gain.
