Death of Mrs. Floyd Shockley

Rachel Jacobina Goff was born near Wayland, Iowa January 27, 1905, the daughter of Kenneth and Luvina (Eicher) Goff. She attended the public schools in that community and high school in Wapello, Iowa. After the death of her mother which occurred in 1922, she cared for her father’s home until her marriage to Floyd Shockley at Oskaloosa, January 11, 1925.

Early in life she united with the Eicher Mennonite church and was a faithful attendant as long as her health permitted.

She died after a long illness at her home one mile south of Noble March 28, 1927. She leaves to mourn her death her husband and infant son, Merle Dwayne, her father and step-mother, and the following brothers and sisters: Vere of Aurora, Illinois; Clarence, Mildred, Dale, Marjorie, Arlene, and Allan all at home. She also leaves a host of friends and relatives to mourn her departure.

Funeral services were held from the Eicher church Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock and were in charge of her pastor, Rev. J. H. Schrag. Interment was made in the Eicher cemetery.
