MRS. JOS. GINGERICH DEAD

Kalona News: Veronica Goldsmith was born June 25, 1846. She moved with her parents to Lee County, Iowa and at the age of about 14 years she again removed with her parents to Henry County, Iowa, where she resided until her marriage. She was joined in the holy bonds of marriage to Joseph Gingerich January 29, 1863, from which time she lived in Johnson County until her death. Died August 12, 1909 aged 66 years, 2 months, and 7 days. To this union were born ten children, three of whom have preceded her to the spirit world. The seven children were all present at the funeral services as follows: Henry who lives in Iowa County, Lida Ann, wife of Eli Hochstetler, William, Joseph, John, and Otto, all residents of Johnson County, and Solomon, professor of Goshen College, Goshen, Indiana. Besides the above mentioned, she leaves to mourn her death her husband, 21 grandchildren, four brothers and four sisters. Three of the sisters and one brother and many nephews and nieces being present at the interment. Of the remaining brothers and sisters not being able to attend were John and Ben and Lydia, who still reside in Henry County, and Christian who lives in Butler County, Ohio.
