When 3 years of age, she moved with her parents to a farm near Dover in Lee County. In 1870 they moved to a homestead near Hartford, Kansas where she grew to young womanhood. She was married to Christian Eicher 1/26/1882. He preceded her in death 11/17/1901. Three daughters and five sons were born to this parentage. Mrs. Eicher became a member of the Eicher church in her youth and later when the Wayland Mennonite Church was established she transferred her membership of which she was a communicant for more than 50 years and to the time of her death. About eight years ago she began making her home with Mr. And Mrs. Jacob Roth in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and resided there the remaining years of her life. She was a kind and loving mother, sincerely devoted to her family, a good friend and neighbor, and always willing to help those in need.

On May 27 she sustained a fractured hip but through modern surgical aid she suffered no sustained pain and was beginning to recover the use of her limbs in September. On the Saturday preceding her death she was visited by her sister, Mrs. Lizzie Miller, of Wayland, her brother Dan Rich of Hartford and her nieces Beatrice Zihlman and Berniece Schroll of Wayland, and nephews George and Ed Rich of Kansas. She was unusually cheerful and they all commented on how well she appeared and how accurately she recalled events. She passed away rather unexpectedly Monday forenoon October 2, at 10:00.

She is survived by three daughters Mrs. Jacob Roth of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mrs. Ella Shively of Denver, and Mrs. Olive Bellew of Yarmouth, Iowa, also by 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, two sisters Mrs. Emma Stoltzfus of West Liberty, Ohio, Mrs. Lizzie Miller of Wayland, 2 brothers P.H. and Dan Rich of Hartford Kansas.
