Iva D. Allender

Iva D. Allender, 86, of Ranch Trailer Court, died at 8:12 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 1993, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. She had been staying at her daughter's home in Stanwood for the past two weeks.

The service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with Rev. John Boatman officiating. Burial will be in Lambirth Cemetery near Glagow. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 tonight at Raymond Funeral Home. A memorial has been established First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Allender was born July 14, 1907, at Jefferson County, the daughter of Charles J. and Lena Adel Litton Heckenberg. She grew up in the Round Prairie community. On June 24, 1939, she married Charles Raymond Allender in Mount Pleasant. He died April 14, 1973. She lived in Burlington, Salem, West Liberty and Cedar Rapids before moving to Fairfield in 1943. She was a nurse's aide at Jefferson County Hospital for 20 years, was a 60-year member of the Baptist church and an active member of First Baptist Church.
