Bonnie Franklin, age 84 of Winfield, died Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Sunrise Terrace Care Center in Winfield. The daughter of Odas and Mildred (Partington) Sapp, she was born August 30, 1928 at Burlington. On June 11, 1946 she married Donald Franklin at Mt. Pleasant; he died June 14, 2009.

She attended Winfield High School. She worked for 8 years at MHI in Mt. Pleasant, worked at Fran’s Café, Mediapolis Care Center, Henry County Health Center and was a homemaker.

She was of the Presbyterian Faith. Bonnie was a member of the Winfield VFW Auxillary.

She loved to read and spend time with her family and friends.

Survivors include: two daughters, Beckie Jones of Fairfield; Ellen Rice of Morning Sun; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, one great grandson, and one sister.

Cremation has been accorded.

The graveside service will be Friday, March 8th at 11:00 a.m. at the Winfield Scott Township Cemetery, with Pastor Ramona Wink officiating. A time of fellowship and a luncheon will be held at the Winfield United Methodist Church following the interment. A general memorial was established in her name.

Honts Funeral Home in Winfield is assisting the family with arrangements.
