Homer Scarff dies

ROME - Homer Scarff, 85, Rome, died at 7;30 a.m. Saturday at his home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trenton Missionary Church in Trenton with the Rev. Alfred Dietz officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Mount Pleasant. Friends may call as they desire at Beatty-Wilkins Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. A memorial has been estabished to White Oak Church.

Scarff was born Sept. 2, 1901 in the White Oak community, the son of John and Lulu Messer Scarff. On Dec. 22, 1922 he married Georgia Coppock at Trenton. She died Aug. 28, 1986. He was a retired farmer.

Surviving are two daughters, Donna Ensminger Jr., Rome; Bettie Watson, Lakeland, Fla.; five grandchildren; three brothers, Edwin, Burlington; Larry, Mount Pleasant; Morris, San Francisco, Calif. Two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
