Death Takes Art Salzman

Art Salzman, 74, well known Jefferson County farmer, died suddenly Monday at the Henry County Hospital in Mount Pleasant.

Last rites will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Crane-Ewart-Young Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant with burial in Forest Home Cemetery.

The son of Peter and Anna Taylor Salzman, he was born Jan. 11, 1889, in Jefferson County.

He resided his entire life in the Merrimac Community in northeast JeffersonCounty, and was engaged in farming and the earth moving business.

Salzman served as vice president of Midwest Old Settlers and Threshers Association at Mount Pleasant for a number of years.

He is survived by his wife, the former Frances Crane; also two daughters and one son, Mrs. Ernest Farrier, Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Norman Crowe, Athens, Ohio; and Peter Salzman, route 2, Brighton; one sister, Mrs. Lester Rossegger, Glendale, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
