Runyon Rites At Hillsboro

SALEM - Rex Runyon, 71, retired Hillsboro farmer, died Sunday in Van Buren Memorial Hospital.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Hillsboro Baptist Church with the Rev. Lester Smith officiating. Burial will be in Hillsboro Cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of the Beatty-Jennings Chapel in Salem.

Runyon was born Dec. 3, 1901 west of Hillsboro, the son of Lewis and Ida Mae Boley Runyon. Most of his life was spent on the family farm. He was married to Fern Philips, Oct. 1, 1925 in Fairfield.

Surviving are his widow, one daughter, Mrs. William Newman, Burlington; and two sons, William and Milo, both of Hillsboro. Eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.

A memorial fund has been established to the Iowa Commission for the Blind.
