Ear R. Berrie, 54, 306 S. Harrison St., Mt. Pleasant died suddenly at his home Saturday, May 24th about 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 27th at 3:00 p.m. from the First United Methodist church, Mt. Pleasant, with Rev. C. Dendy Garrett, pastor of the church and Rev. Alton Koch, Faith Lutheran church, Mt. Pleasant, officiating.

Interment will be in the Forest Home cemetery with the Simkin-Pidgeon American Legion Post of Salem in charge of military rites.

The family requests a Memorial Fund to the Salem Congregatoinal Church has been established. Memorials may be left at the Beatty Funeral Chapel in Mt. Pleasant or at Salem.

Mr. Berrie was born south of Mt. Pleasant, March 6, 1915, the son of William Gertrude Calhoun Berrie.

On June 5, 1937 he was married to Viola Shrader in Mt. Pleasant.

He was a member of the Salem Congregational Church and the Salem American Legion. He was employed by MHI the past 25 years and until two years ago farmed West of Salem. After moving to Mt. Pleasant he was also employed by Beatty Funeral Chapel in the ambulance.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Sharon K. at home, Mrs. Dennis (Carol) Burky, Utica, New York, Miss Phyllis Berrie, Detroit, Michigan, one son, Ronald Berrie, Davenport, three grandsons, seven sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Dodds, Muscatine, Mrs. Alice Brown, Burlington, Mrs. Marjorie Craig and Mrs. Elsie Dorothy Doyle, Bettendorf, Mrs. Vivian Roller, Kahoka, Missouri, and Mrs. Evelyn Hatfield, Los Angeles, Calif., one brother, Clarence Berrie, Pasadena, Calif., many nephews and nieces and a host of friends.

He was a predeceased by his parents and one brother.

The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Beatty Funeral Chapel in Mt. Pleasant.
