Ruby Lavena Mills

Ruby Lavena Mills, 80, of Mount Pleasant and formerly of Lockridge, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, at her home.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant with the Rev. Peggy Egbert officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today with family present from 6:30-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Oakland Mills Cemetery.

Mrs. Mills was born Sept. 12, 1920, at Boise, Idaho, the daughter of Otis and Laura Harrison. She married Iliff Sylvester Mills June 27, 1935. He died Feb. 22, 1999.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of New Sweden United Methodist Church in Lockridge.

Survivors include two sons Warren Iliff Mills of Batavia and Edwin LeRoy Mills of Demming, N.M.; two daugthers, Sharon Virginia Rhum of Mount Pleasant and Mary Alice McDowell of Cedar Rapids; 14 grandchildren; four sisters, Marjorie Hourihan and Mildred Boese, both of Mount Pleasant, Adra Barr of West Burlington, and Dorothy Morris of Lockridge.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Otis Harrison.
