Lutes Rites Held Today

Viola J. Lutes, 65, died at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Park View Care Center following a lengthy illness.

Last rites were held this morning at 10 a.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Bartruff officiating. Burial was in Trinity Cemetery north of New London.

Viola J. Lutes was born Nov. 23, 1907, in Wapello County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lutes. A member of the United Methodist Church and the Rebekah Lodge, she spent most of her life in Jefferson County.

Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Verna Matthess, Tucson, Arizona, and a number of cousins.
