Forrest E. Wallerich, 86, of Danville died Sunday, June 18, 2000, at Great River Medical Center in Burlington.

The funeral service was held on Thursday at Elliott Chapel in New London with the Rev. Ed Davis officiating. Interment was held in Hillsboro Cemetery in Hillsboro.

Mr. Wallerich was born May 19, 1914, in Richland, the son of Ransom and Bertha McClure Wallerich. He married Charlotte Barnett Vance Sept. 17, 1965, in Canton, Mo.

He played football in high school and graduated in 1934 from Richland High School.

He worked as a farmer and was employed at Iowa Army Ammunition Plant until he retired in 1978.

He hunted and fished.

He was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include his wife; eight sons, John Wallerich of Kalona, Charles Wallerich of Covington, Ind., Dick Wallerich of Cedar Rapids, Ron Wallerich of Littleton, Colo., Gary Wallerich of Windsor Colo., Larry Wallerich of Central City, Colo., and Mike Wallerich and Alan Wallerich, both of Danville; four daughters, Barbara Pratt of Vinton, Jackie Barker of Lincoln, Neb., Judy Nelson of Broomfield, Colo., and Patty Revels of Buford, S.C.; one stepson, Jerry Vance of Burlington; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather; and stepdaughter, Debbie Vance.
