Old Settler Dead.

Mrs. Margaret Lyons, who died here Monday morning [February 28] at about 3 o'clock of old age, would have been 92 years old in May, and she came to Iowa in 1864, living in Mt. Pleasant most of that time.

The husband died about twenty five years ago and since then she has lived with J. J. Hall. Mrs. Hall is a daughter. The other children are Mrs. S.M. Pyle and J. B. Lyons of this town; and Mrs. Margaret Claypool of Kalispel, Montana.

Mrs. Lyons was a woman who retained a sweet disposition to the very end and she was always busy with some thing to keep her mind busy and cheerful; she was ever considerate of other sand it was a real pleasure to her friends to do things for her. Old age seems to be a license to become cross and fretful and fault finding. Mrs. Lyons grew in grace and cheerfulness as the years came on. She was born in Harrison county, Ohio in 1818 and was a member of the Presbyterian church.

The funeral was held Tuesday after noon at the house, the services being conducted by Rev. Hardy A. Ingham, pastor of the Methodist church; burial at Forest Home. The pall bearers with the exception of Elmer Leach, were grandsons: Frank Pyle, Frank and Paul Lyons, jim and Fred Hall.

Death came to her as a result of a general breakdown which has been coming on for a number of years....and has stood the past winter poorly. ...She and her husband for years lived on a farm near this city, and after the death of the latter, Mrs. Lyons came to Mt. Pleasant, where she has been making her home ever since.

She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Claypool, of Kalispel, Mont.; Mrs. Sam Pyle and Mrs. Joe Hall, of this city, and one son, Mr. Bate Lyons, also of Mt. Pleasant....
