Mrs. Linnet B. Barnett, 83, Fairfield, died at 4:35 p.m. Thursday Aug. 20, 1981 at Jefferson County Hospital.

She was born Feb. 14, 1898 in Mt. Zion, to James and Anna Williams Slutt. She married Ray Barnett on Nov. 15, 1915 in Keosauqua.

She spent most of her life in the Hillsboro area, but had lived in Fairfield the past seven years.

Surviving; her husband; seven daughters, Mrs. Georgia Ellis, Keota, Mrs Leona Sanderson, Hillsboro, Mary Faught, Burlington, Charlotte Wallerick, Danville, Mrs. Marie Ellis, Mrs. Beulah Shilling and Anna M. Workman, all of Fairfield; three sons, Lex, James R. and Robert L., all of Fairfield; one sister Mrs. Alice Hammersley, Ottumwa; two brothers, Web Slutt, Ottumwa and Elmer Slutt, Rocklin, Calif.; 36 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 24 at 10 a.m. Burial was in the Hillsboro Cemetery
