Harry E. Cornick Taken By Death

Harry E. Cornick, 73, died at the Memorial Hospital at 1:20 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, after a short illness.

He was born August 17, 1888, in Henry County, where he had been a lifelong resident.

He was the son of Nelson and Mary Alice Moorehead Cornick, who preceded him in death.

On January 6, 1915, he was married to Minnie Graff, who preceded him in death, August 20, 1920. To this union were born two children, Marvin N. of Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Arthur (Doris) Brent, Odgen.

March 3, 1939, he was married to Helen Wolfe, who survives. To this union two sons were born, Dwight Darrell and Ronald Charles, and two daughters, Joyce Ann and Darla Jean, at home.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and four sisters, Anna Cornick, Vera Cornick, Mrs. Belle Coe, all of Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Edith Farmer of Kellerton.

Four brothers and one sister preceded him.

Mr. Cornick had been widely known for his horse raising and racing.

He attended the First Methodist church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at the Weir-Cookes Funeral Home. Dr. Alvin T. Maberry, pastor of the First Methodist church, will officiate.

Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
