Vergil L. Riley

Vergil LaVern Riley, 49, 600 W. Monroe, Mt. Pleasant died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1975, at 3:28 p.m. at Henry Count Memorial Hospital, Mt. Pleasant.

He was born Jan. 6, 1926, at Jefferson, Ohio, the son of Ernest and Edith Watson Riley.

On Feb. 14, 1947, he was married to Joan Nau at Kahoka, Mo.

He was a World War II Veteran and was formerly employed by C.L. Jennings Well Drilling of New London.

He is survived by his widow, parents of Salem; one daughter Mrs. Charles (Vickie) Ridgeway, Anaheim, Calif., two sons Randy Riley, Burlington and Gary Riley, Anaheim, Calif., and six grandchildren.

A sister Erma Ingwersen and one grandson preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 24, at 2 p.m. from the Beatty-Jennings Chapel in Mt. Pleasant. Interment will be at White Oak Cemetery.

A memorial fund in memory of Mr. Riley has been established to the Iowa Heart Fund and memorials may be left at the Beatty-Jennings Chapel in Mt, Pleasant.

Friends may call as they desire at the Beatty-Jennings Chapel after 7 p.m. Sunday.
