Death Gertrude McGuire

Mrs. Noel (Gertrude) McGuire, 89, Route 2, Lockridge, died early Monday morning, July 28, 1986, at the Parkview Home, Wayland.

She was born Oct. 8, 1896, in Henry county, the daughter of Thomas F. and Emma J. Messer Caldwell. Mrs. McGuire had worked in a canning factory for a short time before her marriage to Noel A. McGuire on Feb. 28, 1928, in Mt. Pleasant. He died Aug. 9, 1971.

A lifelong resident of Henry county. Mrs. McGuire was a member of the White Oak Church. She had helped her husband on the family farm.

Among survivors is a nephew, Dr. Kenneth W. Caldwell, Cedar Falls, and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at the White Oak Church north of Rome. The Rev. Lenwood Monte will officiate with interment in the White Oak Cemetery.

Friends may call as they desire beginning at noon Wednesday at the Weir Funeral Home.
