Mrs. Hugh Brown Funeral Is Held

----------

Miss Ada Mosier was born near Rome, Iowa, July 2nd, 1890, and departed this life at her home northwest of New London, Iowa, about 5 o'clock Thursday morning, December 7, 1933. Her age was 43 years, 5 months and 5 days. She grew to womanhood in the community where she was born, west of Rome, Iowa. On the 7th day of Jan. 1914 she was united in marriage to Mr. Hugh Brown by the Rev. J. W. Carson, pastor of the Methodist church at Wayland. Their first home was near Wayland. Later they lived near Trenton, and for the last six years they have lived a few miles northwest of New London.

Their home was blessed with five children; Dale died in infancy. The surviving children are, Ronald, Richard, Ruth and Max. These four children and the husband are one brother, Ralph Mosier, of near Wayland, are left with other relatives to mourn her death. On moving to the New London community her church membership was transferred to the Methodist Episcopal church in New London. Evidence of her failing health was manifest about the middle of September of this year. She was taken to the Henry County Hospital for more careful observation. Everything was done that could be done for her recovery, but it was soon learned that her sickness was of the nature that it was beyond the aid of human skill to bring her back to health. She fought bravely against odds that could not be overcome. And it was early morning Dec. 7th that she was relieved from the suffering of this life.

The funeral service was held at the Methodist Episcopal church in New London Saturday afternoon at two o'clock conducted by the pastor, Rev. John W. Poole assisted by Rev. Finch and Rev. Shuey. The music was by a male quartet. The pallbearers were neighbors of Mr. Brown. The body was laid to rest in Green Mound cemetery.
