MT. PLEASANT - Mrs. Ora Whaley, 92, Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, Nov. 11, at 1:10 a.m. at the New London Care Center.
She was born Jan. 23, 1890, at Mt. Pleasant to Herman and Elizaeth Fordyce White. She married David Whaley April 16, 1910, at Mt. Pleasant. He died Aug. 1, 1976.
She was a member of the Church of the Open Bible.
Surviving: one son, Herman, Salem; one daughter, Mrs. Leslie (Florence) Swailes, New London; 22 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Sunday, Church of the Open Bible, the Rev. Charles Courtney; Richwood Cemetery. A memorial to the cemetery has been established at the Beatty Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant.
