Charles Rauscher

Charles Henry Rauscher, 79, 306 N. Lee, Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 1983, at 8:56 p.m. at the Henry County Health Center.

He was born April 14, 1904, at Brighton, the son of Henry and Anita Overstum Rauscher. He married Ruby Gleason on Sept. 16, 1969, at Mt. Pleasant.

He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, Mt. Pleasant, moose Lodge No. 1003, V.F.W., and had served in the Navy for eight years. He was a retired iron worker.

Surviving are his wife; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Gary (Loretta) Hite and Mrs. Lee (Doris) Welch, both of Mt. Pleasant; one sister, Mrs. Bill (Louise) Lamm, Mt. Pleasant; many step grandchildren; two nieces and three nephews.

His parents, two brothers, Willis and Warren, and a sister, Betty Holliday, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 1, at 1:30 p.m. at the Faith Luthera Church. The Rev Craig DuBois will officiate with interment in the Richwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Beatty Funeral Home. Friends may call as they desire after 9 a.m. Friday.

The casket will remain closed at the church. A memorial has been established for his church. Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the V.F.W. and American Legion.
