Earl LeRoy Combs, 55, formerly of Burlington, died Monday at Mercy hospital in Iowa City.
He was born June 19, 1907, at Red Oak, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Combs and married Ina Grace Morrow at New London, May 26, 1926. She died April 17, 1960.
He was affiliated with the Nazarene church.
Surviving are two sons, Earl F., Ainsworth, and Dennis D., Burlington; two brothers, Charles, Alhambra, Calif., and Clarence, Monrovia, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Goldie Bolar, Covina, Calif.; a step-brother, Ed Sharky, Knoxville, and five grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. (CDT) at the Elliott chapel, New London. The body will lie in state from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Elliott-Lunning chapel, Burlington. It will then be taken to the Elliott chapel, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. John T. Friend will officiate. Burial will be in the Richwood cemetery.
